Work-Related Car Accident Claims Life of Tow Truck Driver

While stopping on the side of the road to assist another person with a stranded vehicle can be dangerous at times, it may be part of the job for many tow truck drivers in Georgia. Should another driver fail to take the necessary precautions upon encountering a similar circumstance, the results can be devastating. A tow truck driver was reportedly hit and killed during a recent work-related car accident in a neighboring state.

The incident reportedly occurred after the tow truck driver pulled over to help with a stranded vehicle on a recent Tuesday. Authorities advised that as he was loading the car onto his truck, he was suddenly sideswiped by another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene soon thereafter, and the driver who caused the incident was issued a citation for failure to move over.

Police have also advised that the incident remains under investigation and state that additional charges could be pending. Being involved in a collision while on the job can be a traumatic incident that could leave a person in Georgia facing a long road to recovery and extensive medical expenses. Unfortunately, some on-the-job car accidents could also run the risk of leaving family members grieving over an untimely loss.

In addition to the emotional strain of losing a loved one in a work-related car accident, families may also experience the financial hardships that can accompany a sudden loss of income and end-of-life expenses. Following such a loss, surviving family members could choose to speak with an attorney for guidance on their available options for financial aid. An attorney can examine the circumstances a client in Georgia is facing and assist in pursuing the full amount of compensation achievable.
