Concrete wall crushes, kills 1 in workplace accident

Demolition projects can be hazardous by nature and workers in Georgia who perform similar duties must use caution when in the presence of falling objects. Should a heavy object fall and strike a worker, there is a chance this person may suffer serious or fatal harm in the process. A 39-year-old man has died in a recent workplace accident after he was crushed by a concrete retaining wall.

According to reports, the incident occurred as the man was working on a demolition project on a construction site in another state. As workers were bringing down a stone structure, a concrete retaining wall reportedly collapsed and fell on top of him. Emergency responders worked to free the man from underneath the rubble, but they say that he suffered major injuries during the collapse and died before he could be rescued.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has reportedly launched an investigation into the incident. However, no further information was provided as to what might have caused the wall to suddenly collapse. Losing someone close in such an accident can be a traumatic experience, and along with the emotional grief involved, such a loss may also open surviving family members up to a variety of financial challenges.

With the potential of a loss of income and high end-of-life expenses, families who lose a loved one in a fatal workplace accident may find themselves in search of financial relief. Fortunately, experienced attorneys can provide a person in Georgia with advice on the available options with which to pursue relief and assist him or her in navigating the process. This type of guidance could help a person better prepare to pursue the full amount of compensation achievable through every available outlet.
